Zone 3 is definitely coming together wouldn’t you agree? It’s week 3 of the One Room Challenge and the outdoor dining table is finally here in all its glory.
I believe this is going to be the main spot for romantic dinners, family get-togethers, and enjoying those lazy summer days. I chose a design that was simple, trendy, and functional. We constructed the table using a $75 pressure treated fencing panel from my local home improvement store. The fencing panel helped save on cost since most outdoor dining table sets cost upwards of $400+ from retailers like Wayfair, West Elm, or even Homegoods. We were able to build a bench and an outdoor dining table from one fencing panel.
Once the table was constructed, I gave the table frame a fresh coat of white outdoor paint from Olympia. Handy Paint Pails was nice enough to send me their painting tools which made my painting process so much easier. These clever paint pails were designed to be used with the Handy Paint Liner for quick and easy cleanup and perfect for switching paint colors when using multiple colors. Find Handy paint products here.
While the dining table was drying, we decided to build a privacy screen on our upper patio. It’s the area right of the kitchen but it also has zero privacy. We used 8 ft pressure treated lath wood to create a privacy screen. We came up with this simple vertical design which will allow me to grow an herb garden right off the kitchen. Once filled with vines and herbs, this should be an additional great area to sit and have a cup of coffee.
